Ellen Rogoff practices in the areas of employment law and complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on products liability and mass tort cases.

As an employment attorney, she regularly represents corporate clients before state and federal agencies and courts on a broad spectrum of issues ranging from age and race discrimination to sexual harassment to drug testing. She handles matters relating to restrictive covenants, employment agreements, employee terminations, benefits, and wage and hour issues. Ms. Rogoff has an active practice counseling officers and directors of corporations and nonprofit organizations in the prevention and management of employee disputes and claims. She also assists companies in developing and implementing alternative dispute resolution procedures.

As a commercial litigator, Ms. Rogoff focuses her practice on products liability and mass tort claims, defense of class actions and other corporate disputes. She regularly represents corporate and institutional clients in sophisticated legal matters including shareholder and partnership disputes, unfair trade practice claims, breach of contract matters and business torts. Over the past several years, she has represented manufacturers of various medical and pharmaceutical products as lead or regional counsel in hundreds of mass tort and individual products liability cases in state and federal courts.

Ms. Rogoff is known for her focus on strategic and results-oriented litigation with an emphasis on her clients' business and legal objectives. Some of her more notable representations include:

• defending an international pharmaceutical company in a products liability and unfair trade practices class action which ultimately resulted in plaintiffs' dismissal of the case
  
  
• representing an executive of a major oil company in a case involving sexual harassment and assault and battery claims, ending in a favorable resolution after five days of trial
  
  
• representing an officer of a bankrupt national weight-loss company in federal and state class actions brought by former employees seeking profit-sharing payments, resulting in new Third Circuit case law limiting the scope of certain state wage statutes
  
  
• defending, as local counsel, the National Hockey League and its team owners in a RICO class action, which was dismissed by the lower and appellate courts
  
  
• spearheading the defense of a major pharmaceutical company in state mass-tort proceedings which had more than 35 cases scheduled for trial in a one-year period
  
  
• representing a manufacturing company in a federal and state investigation of wage and overtime practices

Ms. Rogoff is the former chair of Stradley Ronon's Employment and Labor Practice Group. She also chaired the firm's associate compensation and evaluation committee and served on the firm's board of directors. In addition, Ms. Rogoff was included in the 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009 and 2008 editions of The Best Lawyers in America, regarded as a definitive guide to legal excellence in the United States. Selection for Best Lawyers is based on a peer-review survey in which more than 1.8 million individual evaluations are reviewed. She was also recognized as a preeminent AV-rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.
