As co-chair of the firm's Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Group, the former chair of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group and the firm's general counsel, Lee Rosengard has been a commercial litigator for more than 33 years. He advises colleagues and clients on complex legal problems in litigation and alternative dispute resolution. He also serves as a neutral and is a member of the CPR Institute Panel of Distinguished Neutrals and a member of the American Arbitration Association Commercial Panel and Large Complex Case Panel.
Mr. Rosengard’s litigation practice focuses primarily on complex commercial matters, including securities, construction, unfair competition and insurance coverage cases. He also handles matters involving distributor contracts, business torts, employment and non-competition covenants. In his securities and financial services practice, he represents broker-dealers, underwriters, mutual funds and investment advisers in claims alleging fraud, breach of contract and violations of the federal securities laws. In particular, he has represented court-appointed receivers in cases alleging negligence, fraud, violations of the Commodity Exchange Act and RICO claims (see Harmelin v. Gilmartin, et al., Civil Action No. 06-CV-1944 (E.D. Pa.) and generally www.paamllc.com). In his construction law practice, he represents sureties/insurers, as well as general contractors, architects, engineers, designers, owners, developers and public agencies on matters involving public and private commercial, industrial and institutional projects. His insurance coverage practice includes claims arising from environmental contamination and disputes over enforceability of a variety of policy provisions.
A firm believer in the value of alternative dispute resolution, Mr. Rosengard mediates, negotiates and arbitrates cases in order to resolve controversies without litigation. Mr. Rosengard is a court-annexed mediator for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Mr. Rosengard also serves as a Judge Pro Tempore for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Commerce Program. He is an active member of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee, which he chaired in 2006, and is a member of CPR Institute’s Law Firm Mainstreaming Committee.
He is a Lecturer in Law of the Faculty of Villanova University School of Law, and a frequent guest lecturer on ADR at area law schools.
Mr. Rosengard was named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer® consecutively since 2004 by a vote of his peers. Read full bio » |
