Samantha Kats focuses her practice on complex civil litigation, representing corporate, nonprofit, financial services industry and institutional clients in a wide variety of matters, including commercial contract disputes, insurance coverage, general liability defense and securities litigation and regulatory enforcement in federal and state courts, as well as private and FINRA arbitration. Samantha also has experience in matters involving will contests, trust disputes, estate litigation, powers of attorney and guardianships. She has served as lead counsel in trials and handled many hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and depositions.
Samantha received her J.D. from Villanova School of Law, where she served as managing editor of Symposia for the Villanova Law Review and as secretary for the Corporate Law Society. During law school, she was a summer associate at Stradley Ronon and a summer law intern at the Montgomery County, Pennsylvania District Attorney’s office.
She was a law school teaching assistant in the Academic Success Program, tutoring first-year law students in Property Law and Civil Procedure. Samantha was also a member of the Civil Justice Clinic, where she gained experience managing her own clients and successfully represented a high school student in an expulsion hearing. While in law school, she completed an externship at Philadelphia VIP, an organization providing pro bono legal services in Philadelphia. She also advanced to the semi-final round of the 53rd Annual Theodore L. Reimel Moot Court Competition and was awarded best brief.
