Since 1979, Linda Galante has concentrated her practice on banking and real estate law. She represents community banks, handling all aspects of bank regulatory and finance work. In her real estate practice, she focuses on the investment, development, commercial, residential and low-income housing areas. In addition, she advises nonprofit institutions as well as closely held companies in various industries.

Ms. Galante is the immediate past chair of Stradley Ronon’s Real Estate and Banking & Financial Services Practice Groups, and a former member of the firm’s Board of Directors and Partner Compensation Committee.

Some of the more prominent matters that Ms. Galante has handled include:
  • representing the developer and owner of a more than $100 million mixed-use project at 38th and Chestnut Streets in Philadelphia involving several levels of equity investment, debt financing and New Markets Tax Credit financing

  • structuring and negotiation of a long-term lease for the move of a Philadelphia museum to a National Historic Landmark building, including the development agreements to complete the building’s rehabilitation, and closing of a $60 million bond issue through the Philadelphia Authority for Industrial Development to complete the building's renovations 

  • representing several educational institutions in the acquisition, leasing and financing of multiple projects and strategic alliance transactions 

  • representing a Philadelphia manufacturing company in negotiating and closing on a lease and financing for its move to the Philadelphia Navy Yard 

  • representing several educational and health care institutions in the acquisition and construction of their facilities, including closing of conventional and tax-exempt indebtedness in the aggregate amount of over $700 million 

  • structuring and negotiating the joint venture of a Vermont water company with a Philadelphia water company, including transfer of several manufacturing facilities and completing the debt and equity funding 

  • representing a savings and loan mutual holding company in connection with its merger to acquire the parent holding company of a federal savings bank 

  • representing a lender and investor in connection with a new market tax credit investment in a community development entity, a loan of those funds to a qualified active low-income community business, as well as loans supporting a tax increment financing note and a Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program Grant 

  • assisting a publicly traded company in the restructure of its financing arrangements 

  • representing an educational institution in the structuring of an off-balance sheet transaction for the provision of student residences 

  • representing the owner of a Philadelphia office tower in connection with numerous leasing and operational issues 

  • structuring, negotiating and consummating, for both developers and investors, numerous low-income housing projects and historic tax credit projects 

  • representing a number of lenders (both primary and secondary) in connection with the financing of commercial office buildings, medical office buildings, hospitals, hotels, industrial and warehouse facilities, residential developments and shopping centers throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware 

  • representing a local industrial development authority in connection with several loans to develop commercial projects in Philadelphia

In 2011, Ms. Galante was honored with the Main Line Chamber of Commerce’s Helena Devereux Women in Leadership Award – presented annually to a woman whose business excellence, community service and exceptional leadership have impacted the Greater Main Line Region. In 2014, she was named to both The Legal Intelligencer's Women of the Year list and the Philadelphia Business Journal's Heavy Hitters of Real Estate "Most Influential Lawyers" list.

Notably, Ms. Galante has been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer® consecutively since 2004 by a vote of her peers and was included consecutively since 2010 in the editions of The Best Lawyers in America, regarded as a definitive guide to legal excellence in the United States. Ms. Galante was also named as a leader in real estate in Pennsylvania in the 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010 and 2009 editions of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, where it was noted that “she would be on anyone's list for financing and leasing work.” In 2011, Ms. Galante received the “Strong, Smart and Bold Award” from Girls, Inc. In 2010, she received the Women of Distinction Award from the Philadelphia Business Journal and the National Association of Women Business Owners. She also received the 2007 Summit Award which is bestowed annually by the Learning for Life program, an affiliate of the Cradle of Liberty Council Boy Scouts of America, and recognizes an individual who signifies the qualities associated with the program, including vision, determination, independence and creativity. Ms. Galante was also recognized as a preeminent AV-rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.


Ms. Galante is an active member of the community. She currently serves on a number of nonprofit and closely held company boards, community and civic organizations. In addition to having served on the board of directors of Drueding Center, Ms. Galante was its chair for 12 years and the recipient of its Fifth Anniversary Person of the Year Award, as well as its 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award. She was honored by the Drueding Center with the naming of the “Galante Career Development Center” in recognition of her dedication to the cause of ending homelessness for women and children.

From May 2008 to June 2011, she directed the Philadelphia Forum of Golden Seeds, an angel investment group dedicated to investing in early stage companies founded and/or led by women. In 2011, she chaired the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society International Flower Show Preview Dinner. Ms. Galante served as a Director on the Boards of Fiber-Line, Inc. from 2007 through 2013 and Wissahickon Spring Water, Inc. from 2005 through 2008. She also served as Trustee of the Boards of Saint Joseph’s Preparatory School from 2005 through 2011, Gwynedd-Mercy College from 2010 through 2013, and the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia from 2008 through 2012. She is active in a number of organizations, including the National Association of College and University Attorneys and the Union League.
