Sandy Girifalco is a partner in the Litigation, Employment & Labor, and Banking & Financial Services Practice Groups, representing clients in the areas of employment law and complex commercial litigation. Ms. Girifalco focuses her practice on defending employers in a variety of employment-related cases, as well as representing clients in complex commercial litigation. She also works with clients to avoid claims by helping them comply with applicable laws, manage employee problems and resolve disputes early. Ms. Girifalco represents clients in state and federal courts, and in administrative and arbitration tribunals. Her clients include financial services companies, insurance companies, health care organizations, colleges and universities, and manufacturing plants.
As an employment attorney, she represents clients on a broad spectrum of issues ranging from age and race discrimination to sexual harassment to drug testing to Department of Labor investigations. In addition, she handles matters relating to restrictive covenants, employment agreements, employee terminations, benefits, and wage and hour issues.
As a commercial litigator, Ms. Girifalco focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, defense of class actions and other corporate disputes. She regularly represents corporate and institutional clients in sophisticated legal matters including breach of contract, RICO and business torts.
Ms. Girifalco regularly speaks at trade association meetings, human resource seminars and bar association events. She also provides training to clients and their employees on diversity, hiring, discipline and termination, anti-harassment, investigations and bad faith. Additionally, Ms. Girifalco counsels clients on life, accident, health and disability claims involving coverage and ERISA issues. She previously taught labor legislation at LaSalle University in Philadelphia.
She was recently named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer® by a vote of her peers.
PERSONAL
Prior to law school, Ms. Girifalco was a personnel administrator at a large health care institution. During law school she served as comments editor for The Law Review, president of the Student Bar Association and was the winner of the client counseling competition. |
