Kristin McKenna advises closely held businesses and owners on a broad range of tax issues. She counsels clients on the tax aspects of “S” corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and liquidations, and financing transactions.
Ms. McKenna also counsels investment companies and their advisors in taxation of commingled funds and financial products, including taxation of investment partnerships and regulated investment companies under subchapter M of the Internal Revenue Code.
In 2006, she was awarded the Barbara W. Freedman Memorial Scholarship at the annual meeting of the Tax Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association. Prior to joining Stradley Ronon, Ms. McKenna was an associate focusing on tax, trusts and estates, and business law at another firm.
Before attending law school, Ms. McKenna worked as a certified public accountant for PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP. During law school, Ms. McKenna was managing editor of the Temple Political and Civil Rights Law Review, where she authored, “The Sarbanes-Oxley Act: Balancing the Rights of Investors and the Rights of Corporate Officers.” |
