| June 3, 2009 Stradley Ronon partner Valentino F. DiGiorgio III presented, “The Anatomy of a Tax Exempt Financing,” at the 2009 Delaware County Business Funding Forum. The event – sponsored by the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, Delaware County Council and Delaware County Commerce Center – provided business owners and nonprofit and financial institution executives with information on government funding programs and available business assistance. DiGiorgio discussed how to structure tax-exempt bond and note issuances in order to fund capital projects.
DiGiorgio is also in the third year of a four-year term as Chester County Controller. He is seeking re-election to that post this year.
As co-chair of the firm’s public finance practice group, DiGiorgio’s practice focuses on commercial lending and tax-exempt financing for 501(c)(3) entities, governmental units and other entities. He has served as bond counsel and has represented governmental issuers and authorities, letter of credit providers, underwriters and borrower in dozens of tax-exempt financings with an aggregate value in excess of $2.0 billion. DiGiorgio also serves as solicitor for the Uwchlan Township Industrial Development Authority. DiGiorgio has been active in state and local politics for over two decades and has served in various government posts including as an attorney in the administration of Gov. Tom Ridge and as a chief of staff in the State Senate.
