Hiring of Frank Bacelli Further Strengthens Firm's Corporate, M&A and Securities Capabilities
Stradley Ronon announced today that Frank A. Bacelli has joined the firm as of counsel in the Washington office. Mr. Bacelli, an experienced corporate attorney with a focus on leveraged buyout and venture capital transactions, will head Stradley Ronon’s private equity practice.
Mr. Bacelli was previously with Goodwin Procter and Hogan & Hartson (now Hogan Lovells) in Washington, where he represented private equity, growth equity and venture capital funds in middle-market investment transactions. He has extensive experience advising portfolio companies of private equity funds in mergers and acquisitions and general corporate matters, and also regularly provides legal and strategic advice to start-ups and emerging businesses in connection with financing and early-stage company matters.
The hiring of Mr. Bacelli marks the seventh significant attorney acquisition for Stradley Ronon’s corporate practice in just the last 18 months. This year Stradley has welcomed Douglas Grimm, former chair of the healthcare fraud and abuse group at Pillsbury Winthrop, and Thomas Hanley, former co-chair of SNR Denton’s securities and public companies practice group, to its growing Washington office.
“As our corporate practice and our Washington office continue to grow, we remain committed to recruiting and retaining top tier practitioners who want to work for sophisticated clients without being stifled by the large-firm environment and high billing rates,” said Stradley Ronon Chairman William R. Sasso. “We’re confident that our collegial culture and low-cost structure will continue to attract other experienced attorneys like Frank.”
Mr. Bacelli brings to Stradley Ronon broad experience in the technology, business services, consumer products, education, telecom and hospitality industries.
“Frank enhances our reputation as a leading mid-Atlantic, mid-market transactional firm and is a terrific acquisition for Stradley Ronon,” said Ted Segal, chair of Stradley Ronon’s corporate, mergers and acquisitions, and securities practice. “Our clients will find that his depth and breadth in specialized industries, combined with his business savvy and dedication to client service, are a tremendous value proposition.”
“We are excited to welcome Frank to our expanding Washington office,” said Stradley Ronon Washington Office Managing Partner Alison M. Fuller. “We will continue to seek out attorneys of Frank’s caliber to join our growing DC team.”
Said Mr. Bacelli: “It was an easy decision for me to join a firm dedicated to delivering its clients the highest quality of legal services at a value-driven price point. I look forward to working with a team of talented corporate attorneys committed to expanding Stradley’s private equity and corporate practices in the mid-Atlantic and nationally.”
Mr. Bacelli received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. He is a cum laude graduate of the University of Buffalo.
Stradley Ronon’s corporate, mergers & acquisitions and securities practice is comprised of an interdisciplinary team of 50 lawyers who represent public and private companies, closely held and family owned businesses, private equity funds, underwriters, investment bankers and other transaction participants in complex acquisitions, dispositions, financings and recapitalizations. The group also regularly advises executive management, in-house counsel, boards of directors and board committees, and investors on stock-exchange compliance, shareholder relations, takeover defense, proxy contests/contested elections, state law fiduciary duty issues, and corporate governance and risk management issues. |
