PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon announced today the expansion of its Chicago office with the hiring of investment management attorney Nicole M. Kuchera. Previously with Vedder Price, Kuchera joins Stradley Ronon as counsel in the firm’s premier investment management group.

Kuchera represents securities and commodities professionals in a variety of complex regulatory, compliance and corporate matters. She has extensive experience launching and advising various investment vehicles, such as hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, real estate funds, commodity pools, fund of funds and socially responsible investment (SRI) vehicles. Kuchera provides legal and compliance guidance to registered and exempt investment advisers, commodity pool operators, commodity trading advisers, futures commission merchants, introducing brokers, forex firms, proprietary trading firms and broker-dealers. She serves as counsel to boards, mutual funds and exchange traded funds. Kuchera also advises institutional investors in connection with their investment in third-party private funds.

Stradley Ronon’s Chicago office, the firm’s first outside the mid-Atlantic and eighth office overall, opened in March 2016 with the hiring of several investment management attorneys from K&L Gates, including Partners David P. Glatz and Alan P. Goldberg

“Nicole brings to our clients a wealth of experience in the regulatory and compliance areas for many types of investment management entities,” said Bruce G. Leto, Stradley Ronon’s Investment Management Group Chair. “As we continue to expand our practice in Chicago, we will look to add additional experienced attorneys who have the sophisticated skillset and in-depth knowledge base clients expect from Stradley Ronon.”

Kuchera previously served as co-chairman of the Chicago Bar Association’s Financial Investment Services Committee and the Futures & Derivatives Law Committee. She has been a guest lecturer for a derivatives law course at Northwestern Law School, speaking on hedge funds, commodity pool operators and commodity trading advisers. Kuchera received her LL.M. in financial services law and her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law. She earned her B.S. from DePaul University.

“I have been familiar with Stradley Ronon and its preeminent reputation in the investment management industry for a number of years,” said Kuchera. “I am proud to be a part of the growing Chicago office and work alongside a team of incredibly talented attorneys who help our clients to be leading innovators in the field.”
