PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon announced today that it has continued its New York office expansion with the hiring of Jacqueline S. Edwards as counsel in the firm’s nationally ranked investment management practice group.

Edwards, who was most recently with Kramer Levin, is the 12th attorney to join Stradley Ronon’s New York office in the past three years. She represents investment companies and their directors on a wide array of investment management and securities law matters, including governance structures and practices, regulatory compliance issues, material service contracts, mergers and acquisitions, exemptive applications and disclosures. Her clients include open- and closed-end funds, exchange-traded funds and business development companies.

"Jacque’s hiring is an important part of the strategic geographic expansion of our investment management group, and we are thrilled to add her to our roster of talented and experienced attorneys," said Bruce G. Leto, Stradley Ronon’s Investment Management Group Chair. "As our practice grows in New York, we will continue to add skilled lawyers who possess the sophisticated knowledge and industry insight that our clients rely on."

Stradley Ronon maintains one of the premier investment management practices in the United States, representing investment company clients with more than 1,500 separate funds and assets under management exceeding $2 trillion, including several of the top 20 investment company complexes in the country by assets under management. The group represents retail and institutional investment companies marketing shares through every distribution channel, as well as managers, administrators and underwriters/distributors.

"Stradley Ronon has a stellar reputation and history in the investment management industry, and I jumped at the chance to join this group of talented attorneys," said Edwards. "I am looking forward to growing my practice here and helping the firm expand its already- exceptional New York presence."

Edwards is the second lateral hire to join Stradley Ronon’s New York office this summer. Well-known bankruptcy and commercial litigation attorney Deborah Reperowitz joined the firm in June as co-chair of the Stradley Ronon’s Bankruptcy, Workouts & Creditors’ Rights Group.

Edwards received her J.D. from American University – Washington College of Law where she was articles editor for the International Law Review. She earned her B.A., cum laude, from Boston University.
