William R. Sasso is quoted in this article on Claire DeMatteis' recent move from Partner-in-Charge of Wilmington to General Counsel with Catalina Marketing.

William R. Sasso, the chairman of Stradley Ronon, said he is disappointed at DeMatteis' departure.

"She was a tremendous asset to the firm and a great friend to me and a terrific partner. We are sorry to see her go. When you reflect back on it, it doesn't come as a surprise that a client thinks she is as terrific as we think she is," Sasso said.

The firm has not yet finalized who will be the new partner in charge of the Wilmington office, Sasso added.

"We're definitely looking to expand that office and grow it as part of our strategic plan," he said. The firm has carved a niche for itself in Delaware in financial services as well as government affairs, and Sasso said he plans to build on this foundation.

As for DeMatteis, Sasso said, "She now goes from being a partner to a client. If you are going to have a separation, it's nice to be able to retain a relationship."
