Jana Landon is co-founder and chair of Stradley Ronon’s e-discovery team. Her practice focuses on advising lawyers and clients on legal, technical and strategic issues regarding electronic discovery and information governance, as well as representing clients in complex insurance coverage and products liability matters. Jana has litigated insurance, commercial and complex tort matters in federal and state courts, before administrative agencies, and before arbitration panels.

Jana speaks and writes frequently on e-discovery, information governance best practices and cybersecurity issues. She is an online columnist for The Legal Intelligencer and the vice-chair of social media for the Defense Research Institute’s E-Discovery Committee. She is also an active member in the Philadelphia chapter of Women in E-Discovery and serves as an arbitrator for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.

  • obtained a significant decision from a federal judge in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania dismissing a “bad faith” claim brought by insureds
  • tried an insurance action stemming from the denial of insurance benefits for a mental health care treatment in front of the Maryland Department of Insurance, securing a favorable decision for her client
  • crafted a HIPAA-compliant information governance policy for a multinational company, incorporating international data standards
  • represented insurers in Hurricane Sandy property owner actions in the Eastern District of New York and the District of New Jersey, which included coordinating e-data for all pending matters
  • acted as e-discovery counsel for all phases of a multiyear products liability action that required productions/coordination in several jurisdictions, both state and federal
  • acted as e-discovery counsel for a plaintiff in a multimillion restrictive covenant action involving former employees’ data
  • represented investment advisers in several SEC investigations and information requests
  • acted as counsel for products liability actions consolidated in Philadelphia’s mass tort program
