Julie Murphy represents clients in the areas of business reorganization, loan restructuring, loan documentation and business law. She represents financial institutions and secured and unsecured creditors in bankruptcies, workouts, restructurings, reorganizations and pursuing creditors' rights; as well as remedies and asset recovery through state and federal court litigation. Julie appears regularly in state and federal courts in Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey. Julie has represented:

  • various financial institutions in the restructuring, work out and asset recovery of distressed loans, including residential real estate development loans, commercial real estate loans and asset-backed loans
  • various lenders of all types and sizes in real estate, asset-based and other secured and unsecured financing transactions
  • a closely held, limited liability company in a Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceeding seeking to ward off the hostile takeover of the operating entity, resulting in payment in full to all creditors, and a multimillion dollar payment to equity owners
  • secured creditors in litigating and negotiating cash collateral orders in bankruptcy court
  • clients in negotiating favorable settlements in adversary proceedings pending before the Bankruptcy Courts of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the District of New Jersey
  • judgment creditors in numerous successful defenses of petitions to open and/or strike confessed judgments in various court forums in Pennsylvania

In The Community

Julie acts as a child advocate via the Support Center for Child Advocates on a pro bono basis. She has represented several children in dependency proceedings, elicited testimony and issued recommendations to the court during hearings. She has also advocated on behalf of clients with the Department of Human Services, and various mental health and academic providers.

Julie is a graduate of the Young Leaders Program, a nonprofit board leadership training program held by the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.
