Overview

Ted Segal focuses his practice on corporate and securities law, representing public and private companies in business and financial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, equity financings, venture capital transactions, domestic and international joint ventures, and corporate restructurings and reorganizations. He also provides general corporate counsel representation for a number of large institutional clients and many closely held businesses. Ted works extensively in the health care industry on a variety of transactions, including acquisitions, mergers and reorganizations of significant health care assets.

Ted previously served as chair of the corporate & securities practice at Stradley Ronon, and as a member of the firm’s board of directors and strategic planning committee.

In The Community

Ted is extensively involved in pro bono legal activities and work on behalf of nonprofit organizations. He is chair of the board of the Children’s Law Center, the largest provider of pro bono legal services in the District of Columbia, and was co-chair of CLC’s 2014 Gala. For many years, he has been an active member of the board of the National Archives Foundation, and part of that time as chair of its corporate council and as general counsel. Ted is also on the board of Junior Achievement of Greater Washington and is a member of the Federal City Council and the Association for Corporate Growth of the Nation’s Capital. He served as general counsel of Beth El of Montgomery County for over a decade and is on the board of Jewish Museum of Maryland. 

Ted is also an adjunct professor at the Georgetown University Law Center, teaching a skills-based course on “Analyzing, Drafting, and Negotiating Complex Contracts” that he developed.
