Overview

Nicole Stover focuses her practice on employment and insurance services with a concentration on the representation of management with regard to employment matters under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), related state laws, and non-competition agreements.

Nicole regularly represents employers and acquiring companies with regard to employment transition matters in connection with a sale of business or other reorganization, including negotiation of severance compensation and benefits, development of transition strategy, human resources due diligence, and WARN Act requirements and implementation.

  • represented a federal government contractor in a wage payment dispute involving federal contracting regulations, which resulted in a successful resolution of all claims and avoided penalties and debarment proceedings
  • advised an international manufacturing company in connection with a U.S.-wide reorganization and reduction in force of approximately 4,000 employees
  • advised a publicly traded technology company regarding employment issues in connection with a $35 million acquisition
  • obtained judgment in favor of a former majority shareholder and president arising from breach of a consulting agreement entered into in connection with a sale of business
  • secured a complete defense verdict on ADA and FMLA claims following a federal court jury trial
  • served in an outside general counsel capacity for a public company with regard to human resources matters
