Stradley Ronon Hosts Virtual Event in Honor of Hispanic Heritage Month
Stradley Ronon’s Diversity Committee hosted a virtual panel discussion on Oct. 13 with leaders of the Hispanic community, firm attorneys, staff and clients, in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Stradley Ronon Diversity Committee members Adriel GarciaGabriella Leyhane and Rebecca Rodrigues moderated the conversation with panelists Gisele Fetterman, Pennsylvania’s Second Lady, Renee Garcia, Managing Senior Counsel at PNC Bank, and Sharon Lopez, civil rights attorney at Triquetra Law.

David Franceski, Jr. of Berwyn, PA passed away on July 11, 2020 in the comfort of his home surrounded by family following a hard fought battle with colon cancer.

Born August 31, 1955 in Forest City, PA, he was the son of the late David Carl Franceski, Sr. and Helen M. Franceski (Ligus). He graduated as the Valedictorian of Forest City High School and went on to attend the University of Pennsylvania for his undergraduate and juris doctorate degrees. The senseless murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Tony McDade, and countless other Black people have left all of us at Stradley outraged and heartbroken over the blatant racism and violence against the Black community. Stradley Ronon Celebrates Black History Month
In celebration of Black History Month, Stradley Ronon will reflect, honor and celebrate the many contributions black Americans have made past and present to society, culture and, of course, law. Throughout February, the firm will present a panel discussion about the unique experiences of black lawyers, host a black lawyers' affinity group dinner, and spotlight attorneys' personal stories and advice for minority lawyers entering the legal field. Robert Stern 
Stradley Ronon alumnus Robert J. Stern received the Justice William J. Brennan Jr. Award for solo practitioner by Philadelphia VIP at its Awards Ceremony. "Robert first partnered with VIP in 2019, and, since re-connecting with us last year, has taken on a number of complicated cases with gusto. He is a skilled multitasker, undaunted by working on multiple probate cases at once. He excels at issue-spotting and navigating sticky situations for his clients, and his responsiveness and thoroughness place him among VIP's most reliable volunteers. Through his pro bono service, Robert is helping address and area of critical need for legal services." Congrats, Bob!

Claire DeMatteis
Commissioner, Delaware Department of Correction

Former Stradley partner Claire DeMatteis was recently confirmed by Delaware Gov. John Carney to be the next commissioner of the Delaware Department of Correction. Claire is also a former senior counsel to then-U.S. Senator Joe Biden. She was counsel at Stradley from 2004-2007 and a partner beginning in 2008. Claire left Stradley at the end of 2008 to become the first in-house General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Privacy Officer at Catalina Marketing. Read more...
