Stradley Ronon Attorneys Speak at PLI Seminar

Joan Boros Also Served as Conference Co-chair for the 19th Year

PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon Counsel Joan E. Boros served as co-chair of the Practicing Law Institute’s “Securities Products of Insurance Companies in the Course of Regulatory Reform 2015” seminar and live webcast on Jan. 21. Boros and her co-chair originally designed the seminar 19 years ago and have co-chaired the event each year since. Stradley Ronon Counsel Joan Ohlbaum Swirsky presented on “Questions and Answers on Money Market Fund Final Reforms.” The seminar covered a variety of major topics, including insurance product insights and hind-sights on volatility control, pension, federal regulatory oversight , disclosure, and distribution matters, and the overall regulation of insurance products under the various federal securities and state insurance laws.

Boros is an innovative and practical counselor to the various entities creating, advising and offering registered and unregistered retail investment company and insurance products. The focus of her practice on these investment offerings extends to all aspects of the formation or design, qualification, state and federal registration, regulation and compliance of retail investment companies, variable and other insurance products and related entities such as investment advisers and broker-dealers.

Swirsky is the author of The Guide to Rule 2a-7: A Map Through the Maze for the Money Market Professional, Second Edition – a 200-page handbook that addresses the complex requirements of Rule 2a-7 and offers direction on how to evaluate and revise products being offered for investment by money funds.
