PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon Partner Eric M. Hurwitz and Associate Thomas M. Brodowski spoke at the National Business Institute’s “Title Law From Start to Finish” seminar on April 28 in Philadelphia. Hurwitz presented “Best Practices for Curing Title Problems,” which discussed solutions for complicated title defects, boundary line adjustments, quiet title actions, party-wall arrangements, and other title issues. Brodowski presented “Overview of Title Insurance Claims and Litigation,” which covered the title claims process and title litigation issues and concerns.

Hurwitz is co-chair of Stradley Ronon’s mortgage and lending litigation practice, and focuses his litigation practice on defending financial institutions from claims arising out of nearly every type of consumer and commercial financial product. He has extensive experience defending both single plaintiff and class-action lawsuits against banks, mortgage lenders and servicers, student lenders, credit card companies, auto finance companies, debt collection companies and other financial services institutions. He also represents clients in resolving title insurance disputes, contested lien priorities and bankruptcy-related claims including alleged stay and discharge violations.

Brodowski concentrates his practice in complex state and federal litigation, including residential mortgage lending, commercial lending, consumer finance, auto finance, student lending and a variety of collection matters. In addition to litigation, he also counsels financial institutions in matters relating to fair lending, mortgage servicing and origination, consumer protection issues, and regulatory and compliance matters.
