Stradley Ronon Attorneys Discuss Data Breach Obligations for Lawyers at In-House Counsel Conference

PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon attorneys Jana Landon and Kristin Jones, alongside Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals Assistant General Counsel Kaitlin Rosenthal, presented “Ethical Obligations of Counsel in the Wake of a Data Breach,” during the Association of Corporate Counsel Greater Philadelphia/Delaware Valley chapter’s In-House Counsel Conference on April 21. The presentation included insight on who is targeted for a data breach, steps to take to ensure your company is safe from a data breach, what ethical obligations exist, and how the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act protects breached health information.

Landon is co-founder and chair of Stradley Ronon’s e-discovery team. Her practice focuses on advising lawyers and clients on legal, technical and strategic issues regarding cybersecurity and electronic data, as well as representing clients in complex insurance coverage matters. Landon has litigated insurance, commercial and complex tort matters in federal and state courts, before administrative agencies, and before arbitration panels.

Jones focuses her practice on representing health care providers and pharmaceutical companies in a variety of matters. She advises clients on regulatory compliance regarding the Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, Stark Law, HIPAA and related state health information privacy and security laws, patient safety and reporting obligations, and provider licensing laws. Jones also has experience with products liability matters and government investigations, including electronic discovery matters.
