The 7th Grade Academy Shark Tank Panel including Kevin R. Casey, second from right

PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon Partner Kevin R. Casey served on a panel of judges for Malvern Preparatory School’s “Shark Tank Challenge” on Oct. 15. Malvern’s seventh-grade Academy students created an improved packaging design for a product of their choice that resolves the environmental issue of wasteful packaging material. The students also used graphic design to create a brand and logo for their packaged product. The judging panel, made up of professionals with engineering and educational expertise, gave feedback on the environmental and economic benefits of each design and judged the participants on the redesign’s sustainability, effectiveness and design. The competition was based on the popular network television show “Shark Tank.”

Casey is chair of Stradley Ronon’s intellectual property group, co-chair of its IP litigation group and an active member of the alternative dispute resolution (ADR) group. Casey has counseled clients for almost 30 years in all aspects of the IP field, focusing on patents, trademarks, trade secrets, licensing and opinions. He has also been lead litigation counsel and has participated as assistant counsel in more than 60 cases.
