PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon Counsel George Michael Gerstein served as a panelist at ACA Compliance Group’s Fall 2017 Compliance Conference, held Oct. 25 - 27 in San Diego. Gerstein’s panel, “Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) for Compliance Officers,” discussed how compliance intersects with ESG and the roles compliance officers can expect to play when developing and maintaining an ESG program. Gerstein’s panel appearance comes on the heels of his recent article, “Climate Change Defines the Fiduciary,” published in Bloomberg BNA's Pension & Benefits Daily and the full version in the Tax Management Compensation Planning Journal.

With experience working at two large financial institutions, Gerstein concentrates on the fiduciary and prohibited transaction provisions of ERISA as they apply to the investment and management of plan assets. He’s been heavily focused on the DOL Fiduciary Rule and otherwise assisting clients with ERISA compliance strategies. Gerstein is routinely interviewed by the financial press, and has most recently been quoted in the Wall Street Journal regarding DOL regulatory developments. He recently penned an op-ed for Pensions & Investments regarding the importance of fiduciaries to be aware of the new FX Global Code.
