PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon Counsel George Michael Gerstein presented to the DOL Fiduciary Operational Group of the American Bankers Association on Jan. 9. Gerstein discussed a wide range of important issues to banks, such as the Department of Labor’s (DOL) fiduciary rule, potential coordination by the DOL and Securities and Exchange Commission, legislative and litigation developments, and the status of state fiduciary bills.

Gerstein concentrates his practice on the fiduciary and prohibited transaction provisions of ERISA as they apply to the investment and management of plan assets. He is routinely interviewed by the financial press, and has most recently been quoted in Fund Directions regarding the DOL fiduciary rule and its prospects for 2018. Gerstein also recently penned an op-ed for Pensions & Investments titled, “The $5 billion consideration for governmental and ERISA plan fiduciaries.”

Gerstein and other Stradley Ronon attorneys have significant experience advising on banking law issues, including the operation and management of collective and common trust funds.
