PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon attorney Mischa Wheat spoke at the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) KnowledgeNet Chapter Meeting on Oct. 15 hosted at the firm’s Philadelphia office. The panel, “A Practical Guide to CCPA Readiness,” covered the California Consumer Privacy Act final amendments, the top concerns from clients and organizational standard operating procedures.

Wheat advises clients across multiple industries on cybersecurity issues, focusing on data breach investigation and response. By maintaining a working knowledge of cyber threat actors, the cyber threat landscape, and common data privacy vulnerabilities, as well as the current legislative and regulatory schemas, he is able to assist clients in establishing best practices, as well as providing guidance through a breach event. Wheat has assisted in multiple investigations into breach events, establishing the scope of breach, determining whether notification to affected individuals or State or Federal regulators is required, and providing that notification.
