Stradley Ronon mourns the loss of retired partner Dave Franceski

July 17, 2020

David Franceski, Jr. of Berwyn, PA passed away on July 11, 2020 in the comfort of his home surrounded by family following a hard fought battle with colon cancer.

Born August 31, 1955 in Forest City, PA, he was the son of the late David Carl Franceski, Sr. and Helen M. Franceski (Ligus). He graduated as the Valedictorian of Forest City High School and went on to attend the University of Pennsylvania for his undergraduate and juris doctorate degrees. Prior to his retirement, Dave spent his career working at Stradley Ronon Stevens and Young, LLP where he served as a Partner in the Securities Litigation & Enforcement Department. Among his peers, Dave was respected as a fierce intellectual opponent and a mentor who set the bar for professional and ethical standards.

He was an expert skier, golfer, hunter, and fisherman who loved to travel, especially with his family, and embraced all of life’s adventures. His greatest joy, and source of pride, in life were his wife, Margaret Franceski (Manolakis), and his three children Andrew, David, and Melina. He could always be found in the audience cheering at Andrew’s soccer games, David’s baseball tournaments, and Melina’s dance performances. Dave devoted his life to his family and will be greatly missed by them.

In addition to his wife and children, Dave is survived by his three sisters, Helen Lopez (Rexford, NY), Virginia Hall and her husband Lawrence Hall (Harrisburg, PA), and Carla Wood and her husband John Wood (Lancaster, PA); brother, John Franceski and his wife Susan Franceski (Denver, CO); 13 nieces and nephews; one grandniece; and countless cousins who filled his life with love. Dave is predeceased by his niece, Lisa Lopez.

He will be remembered by his family and friends for his faith, love of nature, determination, intellectual curiosity, kindness, compassion, and strength.

If you care to make a donation in Dave’s memory, please send it to the American Cancer Society. Due to COVID-19, funeral services will be private but will be live-streamed on the Ruffenach Funeral Home website.
