Stradley Ronon Elevates Six to Firm Partnership

PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon is pleased to announce E. Taylor Brody, Jessica Burt, Christine Friday, Elizabeth O’Donoghue, Adam Petitt and Tara Walsh have been elected to the firm’s partnership, effective Jan. 1, 2020.

“These six individuals are exceptionally skilled and hard-working attorneys who are committed to providing clients with sophisticated, practical legal advice,” said Stradley Ronon Chairman William R. Sasso. “We are proud to welcome them to our partnership and look forward to their continued contributions to the success of our clients and the firm.”

Based in Stradley Ronon’s Philadelphia office, E. Taylor Brody focuses her practice on counseling investment companies, boards of directors and investment advisers in connection with regulatory, compliance and transactional issues. She advises clients on a variety of investment management and securities law matters, including the formation, registration and ongoing operations of investment companies; the preparation of regulatory filings; the applicability and interpretation of federal and state securities laws; the drafting of compliance procedures and corporate policies; and various transactional matters, such as fund mergers and closed-end fund tender offers. She has received the First Judicial District’s pro bono service award in recognition of her ongoing pro bono work with the Support Center for Child Advocates. Brody received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and her B.A., cum laude, from Carleton College.

A resident of the firm’s Washington D.C. office, Jessica Burt assists in the representation of clients in the asset management industry, including registered investment companies, independent directors, and investment advisers. She frequently counsels on the applicability and interpretation of federal securities laws. Burt received her J.D., cum laude, from American University Washington College of Law, her M.A. at George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs and her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Rochester.

Christine Friday, based in the firm’s Philadelphia office, focuses her practice on all aspects of secured and unsecured financing, including asset-based, acquisition financing, construction and real estate loans, as well as restructuring, workouts and creditor’s rights and real estate transactions. In addition, she represents institutional, nonprofit and other business entities in general corporate matters. Friday received her J.D., summa cum laude, from Rutgers University School of Law – Camden and her B.A., summa cum laude, from Loyola College.

Elizabeth O’Donoghue, based in the firm’s Malvern office, concentrates her practice in all aspects of intellectual property matters including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and licensing matters. She represents clients from individuals, start-ups, educational institutions, to large corporations in a variety of industries such as life sciences, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, chemicals, financial, retail, apparel, and online businesses. O’Donoghue has a technical background in anatomy and neuroscience, particularly applicable to the life sciences and pharmaceutical space, and her practice includes domestic and international patent preparation, prosecution, and management, as well as client counseling regarding patentability, infringement, and validity. O’Donoghue also assists clients in developing comprehensive and effective domestic and international trademark and copyright portfolios and strategies for enforcement. She has been recognized by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers as a Rising Star for the past four consecutive years. She received her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law, Ph.D. from Boston University, and B.S. from the University of Pittsburgh.

Adam Petitt is a trial lawyer who counsels corporate and individual clients in complex commercial civil and regulatory matters, white-collar criminal defense, internal investigations and corporate compliance. While his practice cuts across various sectors, including business, insurance, white-collar and education, Petitt possesses particular experience representing carriers, providers, hospitals and health care systems in the health care industry on matters involving ERISA, Medicaid, Medicare, managed care, insurance fraud, False Claims Act and other federal and state fraud and abuse laws, high-stakes reimbursement and network agreement disputes, and provider contracting. Petitt received his Healthcare Compliance Certification from Seton Hall University School of Law. He received his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and B.S. at Saint Joseph’s University.

A resident of the firm’s Malvern office, Tara Walsh concentrates her practice in the areas of estate, tax and business planning, as well as estate and trust administration. She represents and advises high-net-worth individuals, owners of closely held businesses, individual and corporate fiduciaries, and nonprofit/charitable entities. Her practice involves designing and implementing a wide range of estate plans, handling all aspects of estate and trust administrations, advising clients on estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax issues, counseling clients in planned charitable giving, advising clients on issues related to life insurance and retirement plans, counseling beneficiaries and fiduciaries in Orphans’ Court matters, and forming nonprofit organizations. Walsh serves on the Board for the Greater Philadelphia Society of Financial Service Professionals, the Council for the Society of Professional Women, Main Line Chamber of Commerce, and the Board of Advisors for St. Basil Academy. She received her J.D., magna cum laude, from the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law and her B.A., magna cum laude, from Lafayette College.
