PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon is pleased to announce that George Michael Gerstein presented a webinar on the new U.S. Department of Labor ESG and proxy voting rule proposal for BASIC (Building A Sustainable Investment Community) Boston. During the event, Gerstein discussed how the rule would significantly accelerate a fiduciary’s need to evaluate climate-related financial risk and other ESG considerations during plan investment and proxy voting decision-making. The comment period for the proposal will close on Dec. 13.

As co-chair of the fiduciary governance and ESG groups, Gerstein advises financial institutions and plan sponsors on a broad range of issues related to Title I of ERISA, including fiduciary responsibility and prohibited transaction issues in connection with plan investments and related products. Specifically, he has experience with numerous asset classes and investment products, including foreign exchange, futures and other derivatives, and stable value funds.
