PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon is pleased to welcome accomplished private funds lawyer Nicholas Federici as a partner in the firm’s investment management practice. Federici is the seventh partner to join the firm’s New York office in the past 12 months and will co-chair the firm’s private investment funds practice.

“We are continually on the lookout for strategic opportunities to build upon our nationally ranked investment management practice, and Nicholas has established himself as a go-to lawyer for clients who need sophisticated advice in structuring and launching private funds,” said Matthew R. DiClemente, partner and co-chair of the firm’s investment management group. “Our practice includes dozens of clients with significant needs in this area, and Nicholas’ background and experience make him a perfect fit to help us support these clients.”

As co-chair of the firm’s private investment funds practice, Federici regularly handles the formation and operation of domestic and offshore hedge funds, private equity funds, fund of funds, venture capital funds, real estate funds, cryptocurrency funds and other alternative investment vehicles.

“The dramatic increase in demand for alternative investment products has fueled our need for skilled attorneys who can guide clients through the complexities of fund formation, fund raisings, fund governance and the thicket of regulatory and compliance issues they face,” said Prufesh R. Modhera, partner and co-chair of the firm’s private investment funds practice. “Nicholas has the specialized skills and knowledge to assist fund sponsors and investors in structuring and organizing funds in ways that meet their business objectives.”

Federici also brings knowledge and experience of general corporate and securities matters, including mergers and acquisitions, asset purchases and divestitures, and debt and equity financing transactions.

Prior to joining the firm, Federici was a private funds lawyer at a New York-based law firm. He received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and his B.A. from Lafayette College.
