Stradley Ronon attorney Karl Myers was quoted in a recent
Pennsylvania Law Weekly article
, “Justices Deadlocked for Second Time in Orie Melvin’s Absence.” The article detailed the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s 3-3 decision that left a Commonwealth Court decision intact as to the calculation of state insurance companies’ insurance premiums taxes. Myers filed an amicus brief in the case.
“The three justices seeking affirmance could not distinguish between annuities on the one hand and life and health policies on the other hand that all have fixed premiums,” Myers said.
