WASHINGTON — Stradley Ronon partner Jan Folena has been recognized on the shortlist for the “Winning Litigators – Defense” category of the D.C. Legal Awards. Presented by The National Law Journal and Law.com, the awards spotlight excellence in the legal profession and honor the top lawyers, law firms and legal departments in the Washington, D.C., legal community. Jan was recognized for her successful defense of two mutual fund independent trustees in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s first enforcement action brought pursuant to the Liquidity Rule promulgated under the Investment Company Act of 1940. She secured dismissal of the case with prejudice after challenging the validity of the rule under which the trustees had been charged. Winners are set to be announced at an awards dinner on October 20 in Washington, D.C.
