Timothy DeBeer concentrates his practice on financial services litigation, representing major financial institutions in matters involving consumer and commercial financial products.

Prior to joining Stradley Ronon, Timothy worked at several law firms in Washington, DC, where he served as an active litigation attorney representing financial institutions in actions brought under various consumer protection statutes. He has also represented clients in government investigations brought by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. He has additional experience conducting internal investigations.

Timothy’s experience includes:*

obtained dismissal order on behalf of national bank at oral argument during a hearing on a motion for temporary restraining
obtained summary judgment on behalf of a major mortgage lender in a nationwide class action alleging RESPA violations relating to reinsurance of primary mortgage insurance.
represented leading mortgage lender and its reinsurance subsidiary in an administrative enforcement action by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
obtained dismissal in state-wide class action alleging violations of state real estate settlement law on behalf of a major nationwide mortgage lender.
successfully blocked a shareholder action against an alternative asset investment firm seeking to enjoin a merger transaction, ultimately obtaining a favorable settlement.
conducted internal investigation at a non-governmental organization concerning alleged financial improprieties.
defeated class certification on behalf of a major life insurance provider in action alleging improper operation of a federal life insurance program for veterans.

Successful Motion To Dismiss on First Amendment Grounds for the Archdiocese of Military Services

Stradley Ronon represented the Archdiocese of Military Services (AMS), which serves as the “ecclesiastical endorser” for chaplains in military bases, Veterans Administration (VA) hospitals and foreign service sites around the globe, and Archbishop Broglio in a case where the plaintiff had his permission to serve as a chaplain revoked by AMS.

AdaptHealth LLC Acquires Agilis Med Holdings, LLC

Stradley Ronon served as counsel in the structured sale of Agilis Med Holdings, LLC, the parent company of Agile Medical, one of the largest e-commerce retailers of sleep apnea and respiratory equipment in the U.S., to AdaptHealth LLC (NasaqCM: AHCO), a full-service home medical equipment company.

Stradley Ronon Secures Appellate Win in Comfort Dogs Case

Stradley Ronon attorneys Karl Myers and Melissa Perry won a decisive appellate victory in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, which upheld the use of comfort dogs for vulnerable testifying witnesses on behalf of several pro bono clients, the Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF), Association of Prosecuting Attorneys (APA) and Lutheran Church Charities (LCC).

Stradley Ronon Advises Customers in Closing of $100M Public Offering

Stradley Ronon advised Customers Bancorp, Inc. (Customers) the parent company of Customers Bank, a full-service bank with $19.6 billion in assets, in the closing of its underwritten public offering of $100 million aggregate principal amount of its 2.875% Fixed-to-Floating Rate Senior Notes due 2031.
