Jon Grosser is a partner in Stradley Ronon’s real estate practice group. Jon’s practice encompasses a wide range of transactional real estate activities, including sales and acquisitions, commercial leasing, financing, land use and development work. Jon’s clients include national and regional developers of all asset classes, retail franchisors and franchisees, hotel owners & operators, and many well-known local nonprofit institutions. His experience in complex negotiations and creative problem-solving has served his clients in the education, automotive, banking, hospitality and tourism, and retail industries for more than 20 years. Jon regularly argues tax assessment appeals on behalf of clients before Philadelphia’s Board of Revision of Taxes and many other tax assessment appeal boards throughout the mid-Atlantic region.

Representative Matters

  • served as counsel to Beneficial Saving Bank in connection with a 100,000+ square foot office lease for their new corporate headquarters in Center City Philadelphia; the transaction involved naming rights, changing the building’s name to “1818 Beneficial Bank Place” 
  • served as counsel to a major financial services company in connection with the creation and implementation of a master leasing arrangement involving potentially as much as three million square feet of rentable space located throughout the county 
  • represented an investment group in connection with the acquisition, financing and branding of three previously independent hotels situated in Pennsylvania and New Jersey 
  • represented a franchisee in connection with the acquisition, development and roll out of multiple Rita’s Water Ice franchises 
  • represented the Kennedy Auto Group with the acquisition of Hopkins Ford, Inc., the purchase of two parcels of land on which the dealer operates and stores inventory, and the acquisition financing; the total purchase price the transaction was approximately $10 million 
  • represented a major regional port operator in connection with a long-term lease and development agreement pertaining to a new state-of-the-art port terminal facility

Jon has been an active member of the American Red Cross of Southeastern Pennsylvania for more than 10 years and has held a number of leadership positions, including serving on its executive committee and chairing its county leadership council. He previously served on the boards of a number of national and local real-estate-related nonprofit organizations, including the Philadelphia Chapter of CoreNet Global and the International Council of Shopping Centers. Jon currently serves on the real estate steering committee for the Sisters of St. Basil the Great in Abington, Pennsylvania, and is an active member of Congregation Beth Or in Maple Glen, Pennsylvania.
