Dennis Lazarev is a registered patent attorney who concentrates his practice on matters related to patent drafting and prosecution, due diligence, portfolio management, opinion analysis work, and licensing investigations in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.
Prior to joining Stradley Ronon, Dennis was an associate at another New York law firm focusing on life sciences patent work.
Dennis earned his B.A. in biology from the Johns Hopkins University, graduating with departmental honors, and went on to earn his Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University in the laboratories of Nobel Laureate Sidney Altman, Ph.D. and professor Ronald Breaker, Ph.D. After graduating from Yale University, he conducted research as a postdoctoral fellow in Columbia University, where he investigated complex problems in molecular genetics. His work focused on RNA processing, especially RNA alternative splicing, and its integration with other processes are part of gene expression. In addition Dennis has secured funding that allowed for extension of his laboratory's research to the new fields, including the role of alternative splicing in asthma and in stem cell differentiation. Dennis has published several papers on these subjects in peer-reviewed journals. Dennis received his J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
