Senior Advisor
Mark Schweiker provides strategic guidance, as well as government and media relations services, to Fortune 500 companies, privately held firms and nonprofit organizations, including business development and insight to corporate growth pursuits, crisis management, executive branch lobbying, legislative lobbying and regulatory lobbying. An accomplished corporate executive and government leader, Mark has represented constituents in high political office, advocated for hundreds of area businesses and organizations, and developed and implemented dozens of annual corporate and government budgets.
Concluding his public service in 2003 as the 44th governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Mark has previously held top management positions in sizable government organizations. He was elected state lieutenant governor in 1994 and was re-elected in 1998. Mark has been recognized for many achievements during his service as governor, including increasing state security after 9/11, activating an advanced urban-reform plan for the School District of Philadelphia, and overseeing the successful rescue operation of nine trapped coal miners in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
Subsequently, Mark served as president of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce (GPCC), one of the largest business-advocacy organizations in the United States. Mark oversaw GPCC’s mission of promoting business development and economic growth in the tri-state Philadelphia region, advocated for sound public policy, and enhanced the services and programs available to GPCC members.
As a result of Mark’s extensive background in political and corporate positions, he is a regular media guest and commentator, including on CNN, Fox News, PBS and NBC. Mark is currently the senior vice president, corporate development, at Renmatix Inc., a technology licensor for the conversion of biomass into cellulosic sugar.
