Mischa Wheat represents clients across a variety of industries on general commercial litigation matters, particularly involving cybersecurity and data privacy issues, focusing on compliance with privacy laws and regulations and data breach investigation. Mischa is an IAPP Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and maintains working knowledge of the cyber threat landscape, common data privacy vulnerabilities, and the current legislative and regulatory schemas. Mischa counsels clients in establishing best information security and privacy practices and provides guidance through a breach event. He has assisted in multiple breach investigations, responses and notifications.
Mischa also supports the firm’s securities litigation and enforcement group representing clients in internal investigations and regulatory actions. Additionally, he assists individuals and entities in matters related to bankruptcy, creditors’ rights and troubled loan workouts.
While in law school, Mischa served as executive editor of membership and recruitment for Drexel Law Review and was a student counselor for the Federal Litigation and Appeals Clinic, where he argued in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, winning a precedential decision. Additionally, Mischa was an intern with the Federal Public Defenders, Capital Habeas Unit in Wilmington, Delaware and was a member of Stradley Ronon’s summer associate class.
