In partnership with South Jersey Legal Services, a cross-office Stradley Ronon team has successfully secured an expungement for a pro bono client.

Under New Jersey’s “clean slate” expungement law, those convicted of various low-level offenses who have not committed an offense in the last 10 years are able to petition to have their criminal records expunged or erased. Partner David Piper and associate Rebecca Fallk — working across the firm’s Southern California and Philadelphia offices, respectively — filed for expungement on behalf of the client, who had maintained a clean record for more than a decade.

The client was granted a clean-slate expungement on June 6 — a significant development that will allow him access to gainful employment and other opportunities.
