Bringing more than a decade of experience in high-stakes state and federal litigation practice, David Somers represents primary and excess insurers in a wide range of coverage disputes and bad faith claims, including property-casualty, long-tail exposure (e.g. asbestos and environmental claims), directors and officers (D&O), errors and omissions (E&O), and other specialty lines of coverage.
David also represents life insurers, producers, financial institutions and registered representatives against claims involving a range of financial and life insurance products, including the defense of sales practices claims, beneficiary disputes, coverage disputes and allegations of bad faith. His work for insurance industry clients also includes the defense of producers, brokers and agents against claims alleging professional negligence or other sales practices violations.
David brings proven skill to appellate advocacy and the resolution of complex litigation matters. Having served as an assistant regional counsel and special assistant U.S. attorney for the Social Security Administration, David has argued before federal circuit courts and secured precedential victories. His strategic and efficient approach to litigation, honed through hundreds of federal cases and administrative proceedings, creates pathways to success for clients faced with even the most challenging circumstances.
