Course Description:
This course equips legal professionals with the foundational knowledge and leadership mindset needed to integrate generative AI into legal workflows. Participants will explore the core competencies for AI adoption, including understanding large language models (LLMs), assessing ROI, addressing ethical obligations under the ABA Model Rules, and leading innovation in their organizations.
The course also provides space to examine the shifting regulatory and business landscape—highlighting how generative AI is pressuring the legal industry to reconsider long-standing rules around law firm ownership. Through discussion, case study, and breakout group work, attendees will engage with real-world examples and reflect on the practical and structural changes facing law firms today.
Course Objective:
By the end of this course, participants will understand the core competencies required to integrate Gen AI into legal practice. They will also have space to explore the pressures on the legal industry to adopt new structures for law firms as a response to Gen AI innovations.
