PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon Senior Counsel Samuel Arena served as a panelist at the opening session of the American College of Coverage Counsel (ACCC) 2025 Annual Meeting, which was held on May 7-9 in Chicago.

Sam’s panel, titled “The Duty to Defend in Today's Day and Age,” explored contemporary challenges and developments in insurance law with respect to the insurer’s duty to defend. The panel discussed and took questions from the audience regarding how the same set of underlying claim facts can lead to different duty to defend outcomes depending upon the controlling state law rules and the ways policyholders and insurers have addressed duty defend issues under those various state law rules.

Sam has spent over four decades at Stradley Ronon, where he focused his practice on insurance law and fidelity and surety law. He has represented insurance companies across the United States in all phases of complex insurance coverage, extracontractual liability, and fidelity and surety matters.
