SEC Drops Liquidity Rule Defense

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has dismissed its first-ever enforcement action with prejudice related to the 2016 liquidity risk management rule, a case initially filed in 2023, in which Stradley Ronon represented the two mutual fund independent trustees.
Ignites reported the agency’s decision follows a March ruling in which the presiding judge ordered both sides to submit new arguments addressing the implications of the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2023 decision overturning the Chevron doctrine.
