PHILADELPHIA — Stradley Ronon partner John Hook has been honored as the 2025 recipient of the Distinguished Estate Planner Award by the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council (PEPC). Presented annually, the award honors an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the field of estate planning. John was officially recognized at an event on September 18 at The Union League of Philadelphia. “John has exemplified excellence in estate planning for nearly four decades, providing exceptional guidance to clients and leadership within the profession,” said David Winkowski, partner and chair of the firm’s trusts, estates and private client practice. “We are thrilled to see him recognized with this well-deserved honor.” With an emphasis on the tax implications of estate planning, John advises high-net-worth individuals, executives, entrepreneurs and owners of closely held businesses on the implementation of sophisticated gift, income, estate and generation-skipping transfer tax planning strategies and structures. As a dedicated member of the PEPC, John previously served on the PEPC board of directors and as co-chair of the social committee. He is also the former chair of Stradley Ronon’s trusts and estates practice.
