For more than four decades, Lisa Jacobs has represented businesses and institutions on U.S. and global transactional matters. Besides her day-to-day practice, Lisa serves as president of the Uniform Law Commission (ULC), allowing her to play a key role in public policy discourse.
Lisa advises both private and public companies in a wide variety of industries on matters related to mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, institutional and private equity financings, securitization and structured finance, and organizational structuring and governance issues.
In addition to handling business transactions of all sizes, Lisa negotiated the agreement between the Republican National Committee and the City of Philadelphia that brought the 2000 Republican National Convention to Philadelphia. She has also advised several high-profile sports organizations, including those in the National Hockey League, National Football League and Minor League Baseball.
As president of the ULC, which provides states with nonpartisan legislation that clarifies critical areas of state statutory law, Lisa is responsible for setting the organization’s priorities, implementing the policies adopted by the ULC and determining the agenda of acts to be considered and drafted, as well as serving as liaison with other national and international legal associations. She is also a member of ULC drafting committees for the Amendments to the Harmonized Business Organizations Acts (chair), Limited Liability Company Protected Series Act, the Employee and Student Online Privacy Protection Act, and the Registration of Canadian Money Judgments Act.
Prior to joining Stradley Ronon, Lisa was a partner at an international law firm, where she focused her practice on corporate finance issues with an emphasis on hospitality and the healthcare industries.
