Fund Shops Race to Launch Stablecoin Reserve Money Funds

As asset managers and stablecoin issuers consider the reserve-asset framework under the GENIUS Act, money market funds designed for stablecoin reserves have become an area of focus.
Partner Jamie Gershkow spoke with Ignites about the regulatory and portfolio considerations applicable to these funds. She explained that a key difference between stablecoin reserve money market funds and traditional government money market funds is the GENIUS Act’s more restrictive investment universe of Treasury securities mature in 93 days or less and overnight repurchase agreements.
