PHILADELPHIA — Stradley Ronon partner Ben McCoy participated in a panel as part of the American Arbitration Association (AAA)’s Healthcare Dispute Resolution Innovation & Strategy Conference on October 29 in Miami. Stradley Ronon served as a sponsor of the conference, which brings together healthcare leaders and stakeholders navigating the industry’s most pressing challenges at the intersection of healthcare and alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
During his panel, “The New Frontier: AI Utilization in Healthcare ADR,” Ben and other panelists explored how artificial intelligence is reshaping healthcare ADR, including claim analysis, case evaluation, expert modeling and evidentiary presentation. The discussion also covered opportunities and risks of integrating AI into arbitration workflows, including transparency expectations, reliability concerns and emerging ethical obligations.
Ben represents managed care payors and health benefit plans in litigation against healthcare providers and other entities in the healthcare industry. He has achieved successful results in litigation involving essentially every major legal issue his clients face, including the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Mental Health Parity Act, provider network disputes, prompt-pay penalties, out-of-network UCR (usual, customary and reasonable) disputes, and coverage class actions. Ben is also a sought-after thought leader who clients turn to when they need to address novel legal issues arising from legal or regulatory changes, and frequently consults with clients to heed off litigation before it arises.
