SEC Homes In on Valuation Data as Exam Approach Shifts

Stradley Ronon partner Jan Folena, co-chair of the firm’s securities and regulatory enforcement practice, was interviewed by Ignites at the 2026 Investment Company Institute Investment Management Conference, where she discussed current U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission examination priorities and differences in the agency’s latest approach.
Jan noted that examinations are focusing on fixed-income valuations, including the data points supporting those valuations, where those data points originate and how firms use them to develop valuations.
