WASHINGTON, D.C. – On May 1, 2025, Stradley Ronon partners Brian Murphy and Jesse Kanach served as panelists at the Investment Company Institute (ICI) Leadership Summit, held in Washington, D.C., on May 1.
Brian joined an Independent Directors Counsel (IDC) panel, titled “ETF Share Class Governance Considerations,” which discussed the evolving regulatory landscape and governance frameworks for exchange-traded fund (ETF) share classes. Jesse spoke on a panel, titled “Market Insight: Navigating the Intersection of Public and Private Structures.” This discussion explored the convergence of public and private investment vehicles and the implications for fund sponsors and investors.
Brian provides unique insight into the investment management industry as both a former in-house counsel at one of the world’s largest asset management firms and a former lawyer at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. While serving as an in-house counsel, he led multiple legal teams including the legal team focusing on the firm’s ETF share class structures.
Jesse is co-chair of the firm’s private investment funds practice and provides comprehensive advice on all aspects of the asset management industry. He represents a broad range of private fund clients, whether hedge, venture capital, private equity, or private credit, including for sponsors that also operate regulated investment companies.
