PHILADELPHIA — The legal knowledge-management community celebrated Stradley Ronon with the LexPrize Innovation Award at the Knowledge Management & Innovation (KM&I) for Legal Conference on October 22 in New York for the firm’s Stradley Labs Legal Gen AI Drivers Certification program, developed in partnership with legal technology pioneer vLex. The award recognizes innovations shaping the future of knowledge management in the legal profession.

At the conference, the three finalists showcased their innovative projects — including Sarah Hirebet, director of knowledge management at Stradley Ronon, who presented the firm’s Stradley Labs program. Attendees — innovation leaders from law firms and corporate legal departments — engaged directly with the presenters before casting their votes to determine the recipient of the LexPrize Award. The firm’s program was selected by the KM&I community through this “people’s choice” process and was recognized during the conference’s opening-day reception.

“It is deeply meaningful to be in dialogue with these members of the KM and innovation community and we are grateful for the recognition,” Sarah said. “Gen AI may be the shiny new thing, but our role as counselors doesn't really change. Client-focused gen AI training is just an extension of that — bringing the same diligence to the complex technical issues and strict ethics requirements surrounding gen AI as well as the ever-present challenge of helping people adapt to change.”

Stradley Ronon’s 13-CLE accredited program aims to set an industry standard with comprehensive gen AI training for law firm professionals. In partnership with vLex, Stradley Labs trained an initial cohort of 30 Stradley Ronon lawyers and business professionals this summer, followed by a second cohort this fall.
