PHILADELPHIA — Enhancing the firm’s real estate transactional offerings, Nicole Ellis has joined Stradley Ronon as a partner in the Philadelphia office. Arriving from Brandywine Realty Trust as associate general counsel and as a former member of Cozen O’Connor, Nicole brings a wealth of experience in real estate acquisition matters.
“Nicole’s comprehensive background spans both private practice and in-house in prominent real estate companies, giving her an invaluable perspective and insight into the opportunities available to our clients,” said Christopher Rosenbleeth, partner and chair of the firm’s finance and real estate practice. “Her legal acuity across complex development projects, coupled with her practical business acumen, strengthens our capabilities and service offerings throughout the region. Additionally, Brandywine is a valued client, and this marks a shared success.”
Nicole has handled some of Philadelphia’s most significant developments, and regularly represents purchasers and sellers in real property acquisitions and sales, including fee and ground leases, and in connection with land development, entitlements, opportunity zones, title and survey matters. She collaborates with teams across the full life cycle of property transactions, including organizational structure, financing, zoning and land use, and corporate and tax.
“Stradley Ronon’s collaborative culture and work on high-profile real estate projects — including a multibillion-dollar project transforming a former oil refinery site into one of the largest multi-modal industrial, life sciences and innovation campuses in Philadelphia — made this the ideal place to return to private practice,” Nicole said. “Having worked on both sides of the table — I understand firsthand what clients need from their outside counsel, and I’m eager to leverage that knowledge to deliver exceptional service.”
At Brandywine, one of the largest, publicly traded, full-service, integrated real estate companies in the United States, Nicole focused on transformative mixed-use community developments primarily in Philadelphia and Austin, Texas. Previously, Nicole led legal strategy on significant real estate and financing projects for a sports and entertainment company. She is also a former member of Cozen O’Connor.
