With particular knowledge of the highly regulated healthcare industry, Robert (RJ) Norcia is a tenacious advocate for his clients and is adept at translating complex regulatory frameworks and legal issues into an accessible form for courts and clients alike. In addition to his healthcare litigation practice, RJ regularly handles large, complex commercial litigation matters running the gamut from breach of contract to civil Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) issues and everything in between.
RJ represents clients across a wide array of industries in state and federal courts and in private dispute resolution forums across the United States. RJ has spent the majority of his career handling complex healthcare litigation matters including disputes involving the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA); out-of-network reimbursement; and healthcare fraud, waste and abuse.
In addition to his healthcare practice, RJ has successfully handled a variety of complex commercial litigation disputes such as breach of contract, tortious interference, common law fraud, statutory fraud arising under the False Claims Act and its state law equivalents, copyright infringement, defamation and trade libel, unjust enrichment and negligent misrepresentation.
RJ’s multifaceted practice and years of experience allow him to understand a client’s goals and efficiently and effectively execute on them in the courtroom, boardroom or settlement negotiation table. A former law clerk in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division, RJ also maintains a robust appellate practice and frequently appears in the appellate courts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
