PHILADELPHIA — Stradley Ronon partners Andrew Stutzman and Amy Vulpio, associate Sherri Smith and John Rothschild, national director of receivership and special assets services at Newmark, participated as speakers at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s (PBI) Real Estate Institute on December 4 in Philadelphia. The annual event, a premier gathering for real estate professionals and practitioners, featured leading voices discussing practical developments, emerging trends and legal strategies shaping today’s real estate landscape.
Andrew, Amy, Sherri and John presented the session, "Remedies and Defenses to Commercial Loan Defaults," which examined the processes and remedies available to lenders seeking to protect and collect their loans. They explored key tools such as foreclosure, personal guarantees and receiverships, while also addressing bankruptcy and other defensive strategies and potential claims. Their discussion offered attendees a balanced perspective on both lender enforcement strategies and borrower protections, providing actionable insights relevant to current market and litigation conditions.
Andrew, co-chair of the firm’s consumer financial services litigation practice, brings experience resolving disputes involving all types of consumer and commercial financial products and services. Amy blends extensive creditor and debtor representation in bankruptcy and restructuring, delivering practical solutions across negotiations and litigation.
