PHILADELPHIA — Stradley Ronon partners Steven Scolari and Christopher Connell participated in the Smart Business Dealmakers Conference on September 30 in Philadelphia. The event connects thousands of middle-market CEOs, investors, lenders and M&A advisers in the region for discussions covering the M&A landscape.
Steve served as moderator, and Chris served as panelist, for the session, “Hidden M&A Landmines: Finding the Risks That Can Derail a Deal.” The panel explored where M&A landmines are most likely to surface, how experienced dealmakers identify and assess them, and what steps companies can take before and during a transaction to address potential issues.
Co-chair of Stradley Ronon’s closely held and family-owned businesses practice, Steve provides practical and strategic legal and business advice to executives and owners of both private and public businesses in connection with a variety of transactional matters, as well as business succession planning engagements, in a wide scope of industries.
Chris serves as chair of the firm’s corporate, mergers and acquisitions, and securities practice. He handles complex transactions including mergers and acquisitions, offerings of debt and equity securities (both public and private), initial public offerings (IPOs) and securities matters for public companies. Ensuring transactions are tailored to align with clients’ business objectives, Chris uses a multidisciplinary approach to guide boards of directors and other corporate leadership through every step of the deal.
